In the Spring of 1974, a small group of people met in a home and begin Bible classes. November of the same year, the group begin work to bring Point Blank Community Church to reality. On April 19, 1975, the building site was obtained on the Robinson Cemetery property from the heirs of Aubrey Hugh Robinson, Ruby Lee Harwood and Fannie Rose Tyson. On October 26, 1975, the church was dedicated. The beautiful Lake Livingston became the church’s backyard and baptismal pool.
Early pictures of the Church show a bell mounted in the tower of the roof. This bell was donated by Col. William J. Blythe, and was taken from a wrecked steamboat sunken in the Trinity River near Point Blank. The bell was resurrected and now hangs safety close to the Church entrance where it is rung each Sunday morning before services.
